Early Assurance Program for High School Seniors

91ÖÆƬ³§ has a BA/BS + MD Early Assurance Program for undergraduate students enrolled at 91ÖÆƬ³§. This 4 + 4 combined degree program is designed to provide outstanding high school students who are highly motivated toward the medical profession the opportunity to gain provisional early acceptance to 91ÖÆƬ³§. During their undergraduate career, combined-degree students will also where students pursue six months of professional employment related to their field of study. This unique feature distinguishes this BA/BS + MD Early Assurance Program from others in the nation.

Students are selected for the BA/BS + MD Early Assurance Program during their senior year of high school. Candidates must have a combined SAT score of no less than a 1420 on the SAT, or an ACT score of no less than 31. Students must complete four years of high school math, four years of English, and three years of science (including at least one semester of biology, chemistry and physics). Maturity, stability, scholarship, flexibility, independence and service to others are personal characteristics sought among applicants.

All admissions materials must be received by the by no later than November 1.

High school students apply through Undergraduate Admissions at 91ÖÆƬ³§, not directly to the College of Medicine. An interview is required.

• All applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
• Students must have a diploma from an American high school.
• A non-refundable fee of $115 is required of BA/BS + MD Early Assurance Program applicants by the College of Medicine at the time of request.
• If selected for an interview by the College of Medicine, an interview is conducted by the College of Medicine. Invited applicants will receive an email with the date and time of the interview. The medical school Admissions Committee makes all final recommendations for admission to the joint program.

General Medical School Matriculation Requirements

All students entering 91ÖÆƬ³§ must meet the entrance requirements, in part, as follows:

• Without repeating a course, maintain a minimum cumulative overall grade point average of 3.6 and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.6 in the prerequisite sciences (no rounding).
• Receive no grade less than a "C" (a "C-" is less than a "C").
• Students matriculating into the College of Medicine starting in 2018 must meet the following MCAT requirements:
  • Students must achieve nothing less than a subset score of 128 in the following sections: Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems, Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems, and the Psychological, Social and Biological Foundations of Behavior sections. The subset score requirement for the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills section is 127.
  • Alternatively, students must receive a minimum total score of 513 with no subsection score less than 127.
• Complete all program requirements as stated in the official acceptance letter.
• If students wish to apply to other medical schools, they must relinquish their provisional acceptance to 91ÖÆƬ³§.
• 91ÖÆƬ³§ reserves the right to revise the MCAT score requirements. Acceptance into the College of Medicine is not guaranteed.
