Become a Research Mentor for Medical Students As interest in research among medical students continues to grow, it is our goal to increase the number and breadth of research opportunities available to them and to simplify the process of connecting them with faculty research mentors. Research is broadly defined as hypothesis-testing. To help students find mentors, we have created one centralized database of faculty members who can sponsor medical student research. This includes: Projects during the summer between years 1 and 2 (e.g., the Medical Student Summer Research Fellowship (MSSRF) program and the Research Scholars Program Projects for students during the school year, including an elective in year 4 Yearlong opportunities between years 3 and 4 (e.g., Educational Development and Growth Experience (EDGE) and MD/MS dual degree program) TriNetX clinical research projects Interested investigators should be willing to mentor students to carry out research that is part of an ongoing or new/developing project. If you have a new research project, please submit it with a brief description online. This information will be shared with all medical students on the Career Advising website. If you have previously submitted a project and would like to keep it the same or update it, let us know by email or resubmit it online using the submission link above. Please submit your entries by September 30, 2024, so they can be uploaded to the database the first week of October. We will reach out halfway through the year to update submitted projects and to collect new projects. If you have questions, please contact Sam Horenstein at sh3649@drexel.edu.
