Neuroscience Camp for High School Students
91制片厂 is seeking highly motivated current high school juniors and sophomores who are enrolled in an academic curriculum and demonstrate strong interest in neuroscience topics and research. The Neuroscience Camp features hands-on experience, and participants will also receive instruction in literature searching and project presentation. Artistic Anatomy
The Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy, in collaboration originally with the New York Academy of Art and now the Fleisher Art Memorial, sponsors a course in advanced artistic anatomy. Taught by Michael Grimaldi, with support from Theresa Connors, instructor at 91制片厂, the course provides a unique experience for advanced graduate students of art. They spend a full day each week in the anatomy laboratory, working from cadavers, for 15 weeks. They study the structure of the body, how it relates to and controls function and appearance, and the application of this knowledge in their own art work. To the best of our knowledge, there is no other course anywhere that provides such an opportunity to art students. To quote Michael: "As we move towards our shared goals of being able to perceive and translate the forms and structures of the human body with increased intelligence, we also allow the important contemplation of the relationship between science and art and the humanities by opening a crucial but often neglected dialogue." Learning Experience in Anatomy & Pre-health
