      Greg Loring-Albright, PhD '22, has always loved games, but when he decided to pursue this interest professionally, finding the right graduate program wasn't easy. The interdisciplinary model of Drexel’s Communication, Culture and Media (CCM) program proved to be the foundation he needed to pursue his unique path of study. Now, he's an assistant professor in the Interactive Media Department at Harrisburg University, where he teaches game studies and game design, while also working as an independent game designer.

The paper investigates the growing popularity of corporate social advocacy (CSA) and how companies communicate their CSAs.

      Friedlander arrived at Drexel in 1987, on the heels of earning his doctorate in rhetoric from Carnegie Mellon, when he was hired as a writing researcher in what was then the Department of Humanities and Communications. He began teaching writing and communication to undergraduate and graduate students and went on to hold numerous administrative positions in the Department of Humanities and Communications, the Department of Culture and Communication, and the Department of Communication, before becoming associate dean of undergraduate education.

      鈥淭here has been a little flu, but there will be more鈥e have not seen the worst of it, flu usually peaks in February,鈥 said an article in The Philadelphia Inquirer in January. Now in February, we think 鈥 people better get their flu shots, take vitamin C and heed the public health cautions plastered across the news media. But what impact do these public health messages actually have on us? Are we going to race out and get our flu shot? According to a 91制片厂 communication researcher, probably not. And it鈥檚 not because we think we鈥檙e invincible, it鈥檚 because we like to think we鈥檙e immune to the influences of messages in the mass media 鈥 a communications theory termed the 鈥渢hird-person effect.鈥
