Each winter, the Drexel Dance Ensemble and FreshDance present two dynamic concerts in the Mandell Theater. These performances provide Drexel students, regardless of their major, an opportunity to express their artistry through dance performance or choreography. 

91��Ƭ��’s Westphal College with support from the Rankin Scholarship Fund will present the world premiere of Romeo and Juliet – The Choice, a re-imagining of the popular classical ballet composed by Russian modernist Sergei Prokofiev. This innovative and immersive production is co-created by choreographer and dance faculty, , and acclaimed pianist and Rankin Scholar in Residence, . Romeo and Juliet – The Choice is performed on November 17-18, 2018 in the URBN Center.

BioDesign Challenge is a special topics course that will be offered this winter term and is open to all undergraduate and graduate students. Participants will work towards a coveted spot in the annual , an annual competition held in conjunction with the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA).

Sandra Parks joins the Performing Arts Department as an Assistant Teaching Professor of Dance.

The Department of Performing Arts will enliven our campus with a variety of performances from May 24th - June 11th. Whether your interests lie in dance, music, or theatre, there will be wonderful performances for virtually everyone’s tastes.

This year's ensemble is our largest to date, comprising forty dedicated freshmen dancers from the University's many Colleges. Their Spring concert, Beyond the Mind, is a series of six unique pieces that investigate and express the connection between body and mind, rendering their internal dialogues into tangibly visible depictions.

Support for this College’s faculty’s creative and scholarly research is vital now more than ever in our time of diminishing governmental, foundation, and corporate support. The Westphal College’s Mini Grants and Creativity Awards program is dedicated to doing just that.

Over an intensive weekend Charrette starting this Friday, dance students studying choreography and film students will work together as directors, performers, editors and cinematographers to create dance films, music videos and multi-media performances.

Kyle Abraham, the critically acclaimed choreographer and dancer, recipient of a MacArthur Genius Grant and Artistic Director of will visit on Thursday, December 1 for a lecture, free and open to the public starting at 7pm in Mitchell Auditorium (3141 Market Street).��

 and Drexel’s  are paying tribute to one of the pre-eminent writers of twentieth-century African-American literature,  and her novel “Their Eyes Were Watching Gods”. Included in the events is a presentation of the creative outcomes developed during Dance Professor Tania Issac’s four-week long workshop re-interpreting Hurston’s text which will be presented on Saturday, October 29 at 7:00pm in Van Rensselaer Hall.

Acclaimed French choreographer Boris Charmatz will come to Drexel this September for a series of important and exciting dance performances, master classes, and a public workshop series entitled Dancing Dialogues.

As the end of our academic year comes near, the Department of Performing Arts will enliven our campus with a variety of performances from May 13th - June 5th.

The Dance Program will host the Pennsylvania Ballet’s rehearsal of O Zlozony/O Composite, a piece by the iconic post-modernist American choreographer, Trisha Brown.

Professor Isaac and Meredith Rainey present new duet: (In)Visible
