      It’s no secret that growing older can be taxing on the body, and this is no less true during perimenopause, which occurs just before menopause, characterized by a significant drop in mature eggs in the ovaries, irregular ovulation, and plummeting levels of estrogen and the hormone progesterone. This drop in estrogen may play a role in hearing loss and help explain gender differences in hearing loss, according to data recently published by researchers at Drexel’s College of Medicine in the American Journal of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Medicine and Surgery.

The program featured remarks from current and former Partnership leaders, as well as esteemed experts from local government and nonprofit organizations.

But new research suggests that fitness and preventing weight gain could actually play a more important role in reducing risk than weight loss. Faculty from across the University spoke about their visions to treat or even cure devastating conditions ranging from neurodegenerative disease to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis to HIV, and debilitating injuries including heart attacks, spinal cord injury and acute kidney injury.       The Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine庐 (ELAM) program and the Executive Leadership in Health Care (ELH) program at 91制片厂 are pleased to announce the selection of the 2023-2024 class of fellows.

      ELAM庐 is the only longitudinal program in North America dedicated to preparing women for senior leadership roles in schools of medicine, dentistry, public health, and pharmacy. The prestigious program is dedicated to developing the professional and personal skills required to lead and manage in today's complex health care environment, with special attention to the unique challenges facing women in leadership positions. The ELH program is designed for senior-level women leaders interested in advancing in hospitals and health care systems to positions such as CEO, CMO, CNO and CFO.

With access to more records, and more time to parse them, it鈥檚 possible that these health care providers could identify and provide better treatments for conditions that have been particularly elusive to diagnoses. Recent developments in artificial intelligence and natural language processing programs are making it possible to glean information from volumes of electronic health records 鈥 giving doctors an important new tool to help patients.
