Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences Department
Clare Milner, PhD, FACSM, FASB, is an associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science and directs the Gait and Movement Biomechanics Research Laboratory. Her research expertise is in applied biomechanics and gait analysis, with a focus on understanding factors that affect human movement across activities and environments. She received her PhD from the School of Biomedical Sciences at Leeds University, Great Britain, and completed postdoctoral training at Pennsylvania State University and the University of Delaware. Milner teaches doctoral-level courses in research methods and biomechanics.

Research Interests
Clare Milner, PhD, FACSM, FASB, directs the Gait and Movement Biomechanics Research Laboratory, where her research uses biomechanics and related approaches to understand factors that affect people's ability to move independently in the activities and environments that matter to them. Her work examines how people adapt their movement to environmental demands, factors that support or augment movement, and approaches for measuring movement both within and beyond the laboratory. Across these areas, her research seeks to generate evidence that can inform strategies and technologies to maintain, improve, or restore movement.
