Moleski on November 30.  Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, Walter first became interested in architecture as a child and he later graduated from the Tulane Architecture School in 1960. Returning to Philadelphia he worked for several architectural firms including Louis Sauer and GBQC before starting a partnership with George Manos.

      91制片厂 researchers have figured out how to add more conductivity into functional fabric devices, by coating yarns with a two-dimensional carbon-based material called MXene, to make conductive threads. The group has developed a dip-coating method, similar to the dyeing process, that can produce a conductive yarn strong enough for use in industrial knitting machines and durable enough to make it through wash cycles without degrading.

      The creativity of local students will be on full display this summer as the 29-story LED array of Brandywine Realty Trust鈥檚 Cira Centre office building is once again converted into the world鈥檚 largest video game display. Students and teachers from K-12 schools across the Greater Philadelphia region have been working with experts in 91制片厂鈥檚 Entrepreneurial Game Studio to design and code new games for the building 鈥 those games will debut on the evening of June 10 as part of a celebration for the opening of the city鈥檚 newest green space, Drexel Square. The opening of Drexel Square park marks the first completed project of the Schuylkill Yards development, a 14-acre master-planned neighborhood in University City being developed by Brandywine Realty Trust on land owned by and in coordination with Drexel.

Be More Chill, a new musical that recently made its Broadway debut, has already earned a massive teenage fanbase. The musical centers around Jeremy Heere, a typical high school wallflower who desperately wants to be popular. Jeremy discovers he can swallow a pill - a Super Quantum Unit Intel Processor, or SQUIP - that implants in his brain and teaches him how to be popular. What could possibly go wrong.

      Nat Turner Rebellion was an up-and-coming band in the golden age of Philadelphia soul music. They opened for the chart-topping Delfonics. They had a hit-making agent, signed with a renowned record label and recorded enough tracks for an album. Then it all fell apart. Now, some 50 years later, the un-released album will be making its debut on 91制片厂鈥檚 student-run MAD Dragon Records label.

      Interior Design Junior, Justin Lee was awarded second place in the national Gensler Brinkmann Scholarship competition. The Gensler Brinkmann Scholarship awards students who are enrolled in U.S. not-for-pro铿乼 CIDA-accredited interior design programs with scholarships and summer internships. Justin submitted his commercial studio project in which he designed a co-working and office environment immersed with VR, AI and MR technology.

      Over the past several years, the Department of Architecture, Design, and Urbanism and the Department of Design have hosted a series of weekend charrettes aimed at engaging students with the ways in which design can address both public space and community dynamics at a both local and global scales. This year, the Interdisciplinary Design Charrette, set to take place on April 12-15, 2019, will be led by Lim Hyeung-Nam and Roh Eun-Joo, partners in the award-winning design firm studio GAON.

      Westphal Interior Design student teams swept the awards in the third annual HOK Philadelphia Futures Design Competition in Interior Design. Two-person student teams from area Architecture and Interior Design programs competed for internships and cash prizes. First Place, including a $6,000 prize and 3-month internships went to Leah Stoner and Taylor Regester (3rd year grads); Second Place, with a $4,000 prize went to Justin Lee and Eunbi Kim (junior and 3rd year grad); Third Place, with a $2,000 prize went to Kristianne Simeon and Aishwarya Gunta (2nd year grads). This is the third year of the event, and Westphal students have taken first place all three years.

The art team, Joelle Dietrick and Owen Mundy will also showcase works that portray architecture as fragments affected by economic and communications systems.

      Three alumni of the Westphal College of Media Arts & Design’s Architecture Program are appointees to the leadership of the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Philadelphia and Pennsylvania chapters. The AIA advocates for the value of architecture and gives architects the resources they need to do their best work, driving positive change through the power of design. Founded in 1869, the AIA Philadelphia is among the oldest and most distinguished of AIA chapters, with a long history of service to members and the public.
