Lindy Center Awards 2026

This award recognizes Drexel seniors that have shown high levels of leadership in programming of the Lindy Center and across the campus to promote the public mission of the university. These students serve as role models for undergraduates and are deeply committed to civic engagement.
Recipients: Aneeka Phadnis, Anthony Martin, Himika Saha Pom, Shailly Verma, Wen Liu, Terrel Jenkins, Ryan Lewis, Joelyne Jacobs, Isabella Rivera, Oliver Vecellio
This award is presented annually to a faculty member who has incorporated the value of civic engagement into their teaching, research, clinical practice, or other academic pursuit or activity in new and innovative ways. It includes a $500 stipend.

This award is given yearly to a student that has shown deep commitment to civic engagement and significant contribution to Lindy Center programming. This 鈥渞ising star鈥 is recognized as an emerging leader both on campus and in the community.

Recipient: Taslim Sabil
This honor is given to a staff member that exhibits the tenets of good campus or community partnership in their efforts regardless of their university role. This staff person should be someone who is not only personally engaged in their own communities but also encourages those around them to get involved and applies a civic-oriented mindset to their university work.

This award is given yearly to an AmeriCorps co-op member who served during the past year (either fall/winter or spring/summer co-op cycles) who has shown deep commitment to civic engagement and made a significant contribution to their co-op partner and/or Lindy Center programs.

This award is presented each year to a student organization that exhibits leadership in promoting the ideals of public service and social responsibility. We award organizations that make distinct marks in engaging volunteers and meeting community needs.
Nominees: Engineers Without Borders, Circle K , Sharing Excess, Drexel African Student Association (DASA)
Recipient: Sharing Excess
This award recognizes a community partner who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to support student civic engagement through an ongoing service experience. Whether as an AmeriCorps or Community Collaborators host site, service supervisor, or collaborator/trainer, this partner exemplifies the spirit of mentorship, collaboration, and shared purpose. Their dedication creates meaningful opportunities for students to learn, serve and grow alongside the communities they support.

This distinguished faculty award is named in honor of the founder of the Lindy Center for Civic Engagement and former Provost, Dr. Mark L. Greenberg. It is awarded to a faculty member who is deeply committed to improving the public good on the local, national or global level through community-based learning. It includes a $500 stipend.

The Lindy Center believes that education is a large part of responsible civic engagement - people who are going to make collective change in their communities need to be informed about the issues at hand and the tools of social change. This award recognizes individuals, community organizations, and/or campus partners who have done outstanding work to ensure education is included in civic engagement efforts. This includes Lindy Center partners who have been outstanding co-educators for our courses and other programs.
Nominees: Drexel's Teaching and Learning Center, Drexel's Pennoni Honors College, Sanctuary Farm Philadelphia, Morton McMichael School (Nola Norris-Greer and Lance Blackwell)

- The Common Good Award, presented by the Office of Graduate Studies as part of the Graduate Student Excellence Awards. 2025-26 recipients were: Mark A. Hernandez, PhD Program in Epidemiology, Dornsife School of Public Health and Victoria Rodriguez Villareal, MPH Program in Environmental and Occupational Health, Dornsife School of Public Health
- The Carl Buchholz Award for Civic Engagement presented by Student Life as part of the Student Life Scholarship Awards. 2025 recipient was Lydia Barker.
