Professor Dave DeMatteo Testifies on Mental Health, Criminal Justice Systems at Legislative Hearing

Professor Dave DeMatteo spoke at a special hearing on mental health and the criminal justice system before the Pennsylvania House Democratic Policy Committee in Harrisburg on May 9.
A senior consultant for the Pennsylvania Mental Health and Justice Center of Excellence run by 91ÖÆƬ³§ and the University of Pittsburgh, DeMatteo discussed strategies for reducing the presence of individuals who have mental illnesses in the criminal justice system.
DeMatteo directs the JD/PhD. Program in Law and Psychology. He holds joint appointments at the law school and the 91ÖÆƬ³§ Department of Psychology.
