Professor Anil Kalhan Presents on Emergency Powers in South Asia at University of Wisconsin

The 40th Annual Conference on South Asia at the University of Wisconsin featured three presentations by Professor Anil Kalhan.

On Oct. 20, Kalhan presented 鈥淐olonial Continuities and Emergency Powers in Pakistan and India鈥 as part of the 5th Annual South Asian Legal Studies Preconference Workshop. Kalhan organized the panel with Villanova University historian Elizabeth Kolsky.

On Oct. 21, Kalhan presented 鈥淚ndia鈥檚 Post-2008 Antiterrorism Laws鈥 as part of a panel entitled 鈥淩outine Exceptions: Rethinking Emergency Powers in South Asia.鈥

On Oct. 23, Kalhan served on a panel entitled 鈥淔rom the Dominion to the Republic: Rethinking India鈥檚 Founding and Its Founders.鈥

Kalhan鈥檚 principal interests include comparative and U.S. constitutional law, immigration law, international human rights law and criminal law.听
