MSCHE 2026
About Middle States
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) is a voluntary, non-governmental, membership association that defines, maintains, and promotes educational excellence across institutions with diverse missions, student populations, and resources. Because MSCHE is an institutional accreditor, we examine institutions as a whole rather than specific programs within institutions. MSCHE provides education, quality assurance, and other services to members.

What MSCHE Does and Who it Serves?
MSCHE conducts accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidacy status) activities for institutions of higher education in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and any other geographic areas in which the Commission elects to conduct accrediting activities, including the evaluation of distance education and correspondence education programs offered at those institutions. MSCHE accredits institutions across the United States as well as globally

MSCHE 2026
Drexel is in the process of accreditation review in preparation for a site visit for the 2026-27 academic year. This initiative will include a comprehensive review of the university which will lead to the composition of a self-study that shows how Drexel complies with all seven of the MSCHE standards.
Public Comment Phase
Soon, we will share the self-study with Drexel faculty, staff and students for comment. The self-study is a 100-page document that describes Drexel — including mission and goals, the academic experience, governance and leadership — in the context of seven standards set forth by MSCHE. In eliciting public comment, we are seeking to involve members from all areas of the institutional community in an inclusive and transparent self-appraisal process. By providing feedback, you will strengthen Drexel as an institution focused on continuous improvement and progress toward our mission and priorities. The document will be available from July 7 - 25.
As you can imagine, 100 pages cannot capture the entirety of Drexel. In addition to providing comments on drafts within the seven standards, you will have the opportunity to upload evidence to support the claims made within the self-study. The evidence can include strategic plans, policies, organizational charts and data to be placed in the evidence repository, which frequently has hundreds of pages to supplement the self-study.
The self-study public comment will open on July 7, 2026,
