About the Center for Inclusive Education and Scholarship
The Center for Inclusive Education & Scholarship empowers a vibrant community of scholars through targeted services and programming that foster academic achievement, personal development, and professional success—all within an affirming environment where students are truly seen, heard, and valued. We create lasting impact by validating lived experiences and nurturing the next generation of leaders
Mission Statement
The Center for Inclusive Education & Scholarship (CIES) offers holistic academic support, leadership development, and purposeful programming to enhance student retention and persistence to graduation. Our mission is to empower a diverse community of scholars to achieve academic excellence, engage civically, build social and career capital, and grow as global thought leaders. CIES also serves as a student advocate and catalyst for inclusive learning communities—spaces free from bias and discrimination—where every student can thrive and feel a strong sense of belonging at Drexel.
Guiding Principles

- Self-advocacy – Validating student experiences and concerns and knowing how to take effective action to address these needs.
- Cultural Capital – Building connections, valuing mentorship, and understanding the importance of what you know, who you know, and who knows you.
- Community Service – Understanding one's role within community, to give back and positively contribute to social change.
