Integrative Intervention with Creative Arts Therapies and Nutrition – I2CAN: A Pilot Study

Research Objectives
Postmenopausal women are at a higher risk for cardiovascular disease and compromised psychological wellbeing, particularly when overweight. This study, which includes both a creative arts therapy intervention and nutrition education option, will assess whether this approach can improve cardiovascular and psychosocial health.

The study being conducted at 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ seeks volunteers to participate in an exciting research project to improve your cardiovascular and psychosocial health.
Who is eligible?
You should be between ages 45-70 years (postmenopausal for at least 1 year) and overweight (BMI 25kg/m2 – 40kg/m2).
What is involved?
You will be asked to participate in 16 weekly group sessions (either nutrition education or combined with creative arts therapy) of 60-75 minutes each. During the first and last visit, we will collect a blood and urine sample, measure your body composition and ask you to complete a series of questionnaires.
Study Visits and Compensation
Two in person sessions, up to 16 weekly sessions are delivered via zoom, $100 compensation.
