Police are More Likely to Kill Black Men, Study Finds

James Buehler, MD, a clinical professor in the Dornsife School of Public Health, released research that found black men are almost three times as likely to die as a result of police action as white men. His work was featured and he was quoted in stories in both the , and Reuters, , , and Dec. 20. The Pacific Standard did a pair of stories the same day quoting Buehler, one and the second . KGO-AM (San Francisco) also mentioned the study on their afternoon broadcast Dec. 20. The Reuters story was picked up by Yahoo! News and Business Insider, among others, and the CNN story was picked up by local news websites.
