Bio:
Rebecca Clothey, PhD, is Professor and Department Head, Global Studies and Modern Languages at 91制片厂 with a joint appointment as Professor in the Drexel School of Education. Dr. Clothey's research interests explore the intersections of international education and education policy, issues of ethnicity, and community driven education initiatives in China, the U.S., and Turkey. Clothey's passion for international education began while she attended an international boarding school in Tamil Nadu, South India – and ever since then, her global interests have continued to expand. In addition to the United States, she has lived for extended periods in India, China, Turkey, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. She has traveled frequently to China since 1993, where she lived off and on for almost six years.
Dr. Clothey has been awarded grants for her research from Fulbright, including one to China and one to Uzbekistan; the ; ARIT-NEH; and the Drexel Social Science Research Fund among others. She is a 2021-2022 recipient of the 91制片厂 Provost Award for Outstanding Mid-Career Scholarly Achievement.
