Bio:
Alexandra Brumberg is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at 91制片厂. Her group’s research combines synthesis of low-dimensional semiconductor materials with steady-state and time-resolved optical spectroscopy and diffraction to understand and control dynamic structural processes, such as crystallization, self-assembly, and phase transitions. In doing so, her group aims to enable control over optoelectronic and other physico-chemical properties through an enhanced fundamental understanding of how electron and carrier dynamics are influenced by changes in structure.
Dr. Brumberg received a B.S. in ACS-certified Chemistry and Mathematics at Tufts University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry at Northwestern University, where she used ultrafast optical spectroscopy and x-ray diffraction to understand the photophysics of two-dimensional semiconductor nanoparticles. She completed postdoctoral training at UC Santa Barbara, where she applied her knowledge of semiconductor optical properties to elucidate structure/property relationships in low-dimensional metal halide perovskites. Recently, she was awarded an ACS Early Career Postdoctoral-Faculty Bridge Grant to support the development of structure/property relationships for white light emission in metal halide phosphors.
